New Hanover County, NC (December 26, 2018) – Police say that a man was struck and killed in a pedestrian.

New Hanover County, NC (December 26, 2018) – Police say that a man was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident that took place early Christmas Eve after he was struck by a pickup truck.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol identified the pedestrian as 38-year-old Gary Mincolla, who had been standing on the side of Carolina Beach Road at the time, near the intersection of Cathay Road. He was struck around 4:30 a.m.

The truck that struck him had been heading north at the time. Mincolla tragically died at the scene of the accident.

No charges have been filed at this time, according to police. They continue to investigate the accident.
