Newton, NC (December 20, 2018) – In Newton, police are investigating a fatal accident that took place just after 1:30 p.m. yesterday on Southwest Boulevard at Meadowbrook Drive. Police have identified the individual who lost their life in this horrific accident.
Police say that a tractor-trailer and a Mustang collided with one another for reasons that are not yet known. The tractor-trailer had been traveling south when it was struck by the Mustang that was traveling north.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital with injuries and is expected to be okay. However, the driver of the Mustang died at the scene of the accident. The individual was identified as 36-year-old Rocky Hilton of Maiden. Police said that it is possible that the Mustang went over the center line and collided with the truck.
At this time, no other details have been provided and police continue to investigate the accident.
