North Augusta, GA (October 4, 2018) – A very brief police pursuit ended in a crash Tuesday morning when police received.

North Augusta, GA (October 4, 2018) – A very brief police pursuit ended in a crash Tuesday morning when police received a tip-off about a stolen SUV. The chase ended when the SUV ran into a pole and the suspects tried to flee on foot.

Police received a tip that a set of keys has been stolen from the WalMart on Knox Avenue and with them, the SUV they belonged to. North Augusta Public Safety officers gave chase which ended shortly thereafter when the stolen vehicle crashed into a pole in a nearby Aldi parking lot. The driver attempted to flee the scene but was quickly captured. A woman who had been a passenger in the stolen SUV was found on the ground with a head wound. Whether she was thrown out of the vehicle or attempted to jump is still unclear at this point. The third passenger was also captured and is being held for questioning.

All three suspects, whose names have not been released, sustained injuries and were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. This crash is still under investigation.
