North Charleston, SC (November 3, 2018) – Police have identified the name of a driver who was involved in a fatal accident as 35-year-old Dominique Renaldo Gilliard. The driver died following a fatal accident involving an 18-wheeler.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is now handling the investigation into the matter. The crash took place at 2:15 a.m. on November 2 around the area of the mile marker 207 on I-26.

Police say that the 18-wheeler and Honda were traveling westbound when the Honda 4-door struck the rear of the 18-wheeler. Gilliard was driving the Honda and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. He died after being taken to the hospital.

At this time, police do not believe that charges will stem from the accident. They continue to investigate at this time.
