North Myrtle Beach, SC (November 11, 2018) – In North Myrtle Beach, one person was killed in a serious pedestrian accident that took place on Highway 17. The accident happened close to the Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
At the time of the accident, the driver claimed that they heard a noise and looked in their side mirror, which is when they noticed that the noise was gone. He stopped his vehicle, which is when he noticed that the pedestrian was lying on the ground.
By the time emergency responders came to the scene, they pronounced the pedestrian dead. The pedestrian has not yet been identified.
At the time of the accident, the driver was not under the influence. The drivers behind him at the time claimed they didn’t even see the pedestrian. The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
