North Myrtle Beach, SC (December 12, 2018) – A 30-year-old woman lost her life in a fatal pedestrian accident after she was struck by a driver in an SUV. Police have since identified her since the accident this past week.
The accident took place around 8 p.m. on SC-9 near the Bay Drive intersection. The Horry County Deputy Coroner arrived at the scene and identified her as Lauren Michelle Rochefort of Green Sea.
Police said that Rochefort was walking along the road in the area when a driver came up behind her and struck her, not seeing her. The driver worked with police at the scene.
Rochefort was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. At this time, the South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
