Pageland, SC (December 2, 2018) – On Tuesday evening, police reported that a man was struck and killed in a fatal pedestrian accident around 7:30 p.m. Police have since identified the victim in the accident.
The accident happened on Highway 9 and High Point Church Road. The victim, identified as 81-year-old Carson Courtney, had been walking near the intersection when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle. Police say that he lost his life at the scene of the accident.
Family members were immediately contacted and notified of the accident. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still actively investigating the circumstances that led to this accident.
