Palmetto, GA (October 5, 2018) – The Georgoa State Patrol was called to the scene of a fatal crash that took place on Tommy Lee Cook Road on Friday afternoon, October 5. The victim has since been identified as a 71-year-old woman, but police have not released her name.
Police initially responded to the accident around 10:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Tommy Lee Cook Road. The driver of a Honda Accord was traveling east and suddenly went sideways, colliding with many objects on the roadway. There were two occupants in the vehicle, but the driver lost her life instantly.
There was a 14-year-old passenger in the vehicle at the time, who was taken to the Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Luckily, they only had a few cuts and bruises.
Traffic was closed for two hours while police investigated the accident.
