Paulding County, GA (October 13, 2018) – Paulding county deputies confirm one person has died as a result of a plane crash that happened around 6 p.m. near Lucus Rd near the Bartow County line in Georgia.
According to Paulding county authorities, the aircraft was a Piper PA-28A that took off from Gainesville Regional Airport in Florida. The aircraft reportedly took off into the air with the intentions of landing at Tom B. David Field in in Calhoun, Georgia. Instead, the single engine aircraft crashed about one mile south of Cartersville Georgia, resulting in the death of one person. Emergency paramedics arrived at the scene where the victim was pronounced dead. The Federal Aviation Administration as well as the National Transportation Board is currently in the process of investigating the cause of this tragic plane crash.
Paulding County authorities have yet to release any other details on the crash. The name of the victim that lost his life in the accident has not been made public as authorities try to notify the next of kin.
