Pink Hill, NC (December 1, 2018) – On Thursday afternoon, November 29, a man was walking along on North Carolina Highway 11 near Pink Hill when he was killed in a pedestrian accident.
The pedestrian was identified as James McCandless, who was killed while he was struck by a vehicle while walking along the road. McCandless was a resident of a living facility in the area and was walking along the road when a southbound vehicle struck him.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of why McCandless was out walking and why the vehicle struck him. McCandless was identified as a 52-year-old from Jacksonville.
Police continue to investigate the accident in full at this time.
