Polk County, GA. (October 15, 2018) – A tragic accident took the life of a Rockmart woman, early Monday morning in an accident on Knox Mountain Road. Bridget Green, 23, was killed in what appears to be a single car accident. Surviving the wreck are her three children ages 6, 3, and 1.

A source from inside the Georgia State Police said that the current working theory is that Green’s 2005 Toyota Corolla veered off the road for an unknown reason. Green then overcorrected and went back across the roadway where she broadsided a ditch and the vehicle overturned. She was ejected from the car before it finally crashed through a fence and skidded to a stop in a pasture. Green was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta where she succumbed to her injuries at 4:08 AM Monday morning. All three children were also treated for injuries at Floyd Medical Center but no additional information has been released about their injuries.

Officials say they are still investigating the exact cause of the crash.

Georgia Property Damage

It is not uncommon in car accidents for there to be one or more forms of collateral damage. In addition to the vehicle or vehicles that were involved, there could potentially be damage to both outside people and property. It is also not uncommon for a person, say a homeowner, whose property has been damaged to seek out compensation for that property. Even something as comparatively small as a damaged fence, a damaged mailbox, or a ruined garden or expanse of grass is enough to bring about a legitimate lawsuit for personal property damages against the person who was deemed to be responsible for the accident. While most responsible drivers and homeowners will carry insurance coverage for all types of incidents there may still be a lot of questions regarding the proper protocol, such as exactly which types of damage are covered, which of the two insurance companies should be covering the damage, and how to handle any claim that is being disputed. Figuring out situations such as this stake different factors into account. Factors such as homeowner’s insurance versus renter’s insurance, what policy limits and deductibles you might be facing, and which insurance company should receive the claim will all be important in deciding the outcome of your case.
