Pooler, GA (October 20, 2018) – A crash occurred on Friday on I-95 when a motorcycle trying to merge onto the southbound lane struck an object in the road causing him to lose control of his bike. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle and struck by a tractor-trailer traveling southbound.

A witness reported seeing a currently unknown person performing CPR on the cyclist before he was transported to Memorial Hospital via ambulance. The accident resulted in the closure of one southbound lane and traffic was backed up for several hours as police and emergency crews responded to the incident.

At this time we have no word on the condition or identity of the cyclist. The investigation into this accident is still ongoing.
