Prosperity, SC – One Person Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Accident

Prosperity, SC (November 12, 2018) – On November 11 around 1 p.m., a fatal motorcycle accident that took the life.

Prosperity, SC (November 12, 2018) – On November 11 around 1 p.m., a fatal motorcycle accident that took the life of one motorcyclist, who has now been identified. The accident took place just outside of Prosperity on Ira Kindard Road.

The driver of the motorcycle has since been identified by a coroner as 23-year-old Zane McClendon Spigner. Spigner was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

At the time, 17-year-old Torey Gooding was traveling east when he crossed left of center and sideswiped a vehicle driven by 53-year-old Norman Atkinson. From there, the vehicle struck Spigner’s motorcycle head-on. The motorcyclist was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

Gooding and Atkinson were not injured. At this time, police continue to investigate the accident.
