Raleigh, NC (October 26, 2018) – Two men will not be able to return home after a hard day of work following a horrific DUI accident that happened on Wednesday, October 24 around the evening hours.

Police said that the two men were working on repairing lines and restoring power following Hurricane Michael and its devastation. A driver who was under the influence of alcohol at the time came through the area, striking and killing the workers while they were fixing the lines.

They were identified as 52-year-old George Cesil and 22-year-old Ryan Barrett.

The driver has since been identified as John Goedtke, who was charged with driving under the influence, manslaughter, and vehicular homicide.

Police continue to investigate this serious accident.
