Richland County, SC (October 19, 2018) – On Wednesday, October 17, a 53-year-old man died after he was involved in a serious pedestrian accident while crossing the street at an intersection.
The Richland County Coroner’s office has identified the pedestrian as Timothy Jerome Gadsden of Columbia. He died around 6:13 a.m. after he was struck in the intersection of Taylor and Gadsden Streets. Gadsden had illegally been crossing the street around 5:40 p.m. when he was hit by a 25-year-old woman in a Ford Escape.
Gadsden was quickly transported to the Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital and died while there due to his extensive injuries. Gadsden reportedly passed away due to blunt force trauma to the head and torso.
