Ridgeville, SC (October 19, 2018) – Early Thursday, October 18, a fiery truck accident took place on Interstate 26 near Ridgeville that caused serious results in one person and snarled traffic for several hours.
The accident happened around 6:45 a.m. and, as a result, the truck that was driving eastbound ran off the right side of the highway near the Ridgeville Road exit. The truck struck a concrete barrier and caught fire after overturning.
The driver was able to get out of the truck but was seriously injured and transported to the hospital for treatment. He was cited for improper lane use. All lanes in both directions of the highway were closed as troopers worked at the scene. They continue to investigate at this time.
