Robbinsville, NC (November 5, 2018) – Six students and a driver were injured in a school bus crash that took place in the North Carolina mountains on Friday, November 2. The accident took place around 7:20 a.m. on Frank’s Creek Road.

Transportation officials from the school said that there had been seven students on the bus from the Robbinsville Middle/High School. The students suffered a variety of broken bones and one had a punctured lung. A 10-year-old girl suffered a broken sternum. No injuries were considered life-threatening.

The bus was traveling along when it veered off the right side of the shoulder. The bus went down an embankment, struck a tree, and overturned onto its side. The students were taken to various hospitals and many of them remain there for care and treatment.
