Roswell, GA (December 18, 2018) – A Cherokee County woman was charged after a DUI accident that took place this past week and caused injuries to a city employee pedestrian.
21-year-old Kayana Lynn Herring was charged with DUI, hit-and-run, and serious injuries in a motor vehicle accident. At the time of the accident, a city employee was working on Canton Street when he was struck by an Oldsmobile.
The employee was left badly injured. Meanwhile, the vehicle fled the scene but was tracked down by Milton Police. Officers conducted a traffic stop and determined that the woman inside was responsible for the accident.
At the time of the crash, police say that the employee had been blowing leaves. He suffered a broken leg and other injuries due to the crash. Another employee helped police track down the driver when he followed her in a city street sweeper truck.
Herring has since been arrested and the investigation into the incident continues.
