Rowan County, NC (November 27, 2018) – This past weekend, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Rowan County when he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 85. Police have since identified the man as 43-year-old Jose Alfredo Orozco.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol found that Orozco had stopped on the side of the highway so that he could change a flat tire on his vehicle, which is when he was struck by a Jeep driven by John Corley.
Then, a third vehicle, which was driven by Orozco’s brother-in-law, was stuck on the highway. The SUV was on the side of the road at the time. Two people in the vehicle were taken to the hospital and they were treated for their injuries.
Police say that Corley had been driving erratically at the time of the incident. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
