Sandy Springs, GA (August 14, 2018) – A major construction accident forced traffic along I-285 northbound to a halt. The accident occurred at the Georgia 400 exit to I-285 westbound around 3 p.m. Monday.

According to officials, an accident that involved a contractor for the Georgia Department of Transportation caused the delay. An injured worker was taken to a local hospital for treatment. A section of rebar fell on the contractor, which resulted in arm and leg injuries. No further information regarding their condition has been released.
