At the time of the accident, which took place around 12:30 p.m., a Crown Victoria and Jeep Compass collided with one another at the intersection of Glenridge Connector and Meridian Mark Road. The Jeep came to a rest in the median while the Crown Victoria continued onward and struck an embankment on the side of the road. The Crown Victoria went airborne and ran into a parking deck.
Harriett Bailey was extricated from the vehicle and taken to the hospital, where she later passed away due to her injuries. The driver of the Jeep was injured but their name and condition are not known at this time.
Police continue to investigate how and why the accident took place.
