Sanford, NC (December 27, 2018) – On Thursday morning, police say that a moped accident took place that led to injuries on NC-87 in the southbound lanes due to another vehicle.
The accident happened early this morning when a moped driver was traveling along on the highway when for, reasons that are not yet known, a driver in a motor vehicle came up behind him and struck him. The accident took place near Carolina Trace.
Police have not yet identified the moped driver who was injured in this accident. The driver of the moped was the only person who received injuries and was hospitalized for an arm injury.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident at this time.
