Savannah, GA – Two Atlanta Residents Struck in Pedestrian Accident

Savannah, GA (December 15, 2018) – Police say that two residents from Atlanta were crossing the street in Downtown Savannah.

Savannah, GA (December 15, 2018) – Police say that two residents from Atlanta were crossing the street in Downtown Savannah this afternoon when they were struck in a pedestrian accident.

The accident took place around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Barnard Street. At the time, 29-year-old Benjamin Schoefield and Andreina Icaza were struck by a Honda that had been traveling south through the intersection.

The driver was identified as a 29-year-old Savannah resident who had stopped at the stop sign and then started making a left turn onto Liberty Street. This is where she struck the pedestrians.

The two were taken to the hospital for treatment. Schoefield was seriously injured while Icaza suffered minor injuries.

At this time, police are still working on their investigation of the accident.
