Savannah, GA (December 14, 2018) – In Savannah, a bicycle accident took place involving a vehicle that led to serious injuries. The accident took place on Louisville Road, according to the Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit.
Around 6 a.m., 52-year-old James Gibby had been driving west on Louisville Road when he entered the eastbound lane to turn into a business. That’s when 27-year-old Patrick MacDonald came upon him on a bicycle.
MacDonald ended up somehow facing south in the eastbound lane in front of Gibby’s vehicle. This resulted in the bicycle being struck by Gibby.
When emergency responders came to the scene, MacDonald was found to have sustained serious injuries. He is being treated at this time and we are not aware of his current condition.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident.
