Savannah, GA (December 29, 2018) – On December 24, a serious and fatal pedestrian accident took place on Abercorn Street around 8:20 p.m. The person who lost their life has now been identified.
26-year-old Kelli Bowen was traveling north in the far left lane in the 10000 block of Abercorn Street. At that time, a male who was not identified at the time stepped off the median into the path of a vehicle. The driver who was driving through tried to brake but was not able to.
The pedestrian, since identified as 34-year-old Carlos Lugo, was struck and seriously injured. He was transported to the Memorial Medical Center and died as a result of his injuries. Bowen was not injured.
Police continue their investigation of the accident at this time.
