Savannah, GA (December 14, 2018) – Police say that one person was seriously injured in a moped accident that took place between a moped and a vehicle this afternoon.

At the time, 90-year-old Louise Penn of Savannah was traveling east on Columbus Drive through an intersection when she suddenly struck a rider on a scooter.

Police quickly arrived at the scene and were able to find through their intersection that the driver of the moped might have gone through a red light, but they are still uncertain. The driver was ejected from the scooter and suffered serious injuries.

The driver was identified as 22-year-old Louisa Cauldron. She was quickly transported to the hospital for treatment. At this time, police continue to investigate the accident.
