Selma, NC (October 15, 2018) – A truck accident took place on Monday, October 15 in Selma, North Carolina that led to severe injuries. One man was struck in the chest by a piece of equipment.
Police say that the accident happened on Monday after a piece of equipment from another rig came crashing through his windshield. At the time, the truck driver was traveling north on Interstate 95.
The truck driver was able to pull over and call 911 but he ended up falling over next to his truck, which grabbed the attention of a DOT worker who stopped to help him until emergency crews arrived.
The driver was quickly taken to the hospital in serious condition but he is expected to survive the accident. Troopers say that they suspect he might have suffered a broken collar bone.
It is not clear if police caught up with the driver of the other truck that caused the incident.
