Seminole County, GA (October 12, 2018) – An 11-year-old girl named Sarah Radney lost her life in an unfortunate accident when a carport flew through her grandparent’s home during Hurricane Michael. The family thought that they were safe inside until the incident, where strong winds lifted the huge, metal carport and crashed it into the home. They said that it struck the girl over the head.

At the time, her family said that she had been in the room sending her family photos of the trees that had fallen. Sarah’s grandmother had also been in the room with her and suffered a broken rib and punctured lung but she survived the incident. The family had to wait over eight hours for paramedics to arrive at the scene due to the road conditions.

She is one of at least five others who have been killed since the Hurricane started ripping through Georgia and many other parts of the U.S. since Thursday.
