Spartanburg County, SC (December 13, 2018) – A man lost his life several days following a pedestrian accident that happened when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle on Interstate 26. The victim has since been identified by the coroner as 60-year-old Tony Didway.
Police say that Didway was struck by a vehicle at the time of the accident. He was immediately taken to the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead on Tuesday.
A Cadillac was disabled in the median and a Honda was traveling west when it suddenly struck the Cadillac. From there, the Cadillac hit Didway. The driver of the initial vehicle that was involved in the accident was identified as a 17-year-old who had been driving too fast for conditions at the time and was charged in the accident.
There was snow on the roads at the time of the accident. Police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the fatality.
