Spartanburg, SC (October 31, 2018) – One person was left in critical condition following a pedestrian accident in Spartanburg. The accident happened around 7:20 a.m. at the Jesse Boyd Elementary School.

Police say that the driver who struck the individual did not stay at the scene. The pedestrian was identified as Emma Taylor, who is a crossing guard at the elementary school. Taylor was quickly taken to the hospital with a variety of injuries and has been listed in critical condition.

No children were involved in the accident but a few people witnessed it, so guidance counselors are speaking with those individuals. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is working to investigate the accident and hopefully identify the individual who struck her and kept driving.
