Spartanburg, SC (October 15, 2018) – An arrest has been made following a serious deadly accident in Spartanburg on Thursday, October 11. The accident took place on Interstate 26.

Now, 50-year-old Jacquelynn Spivey was charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in a death and child endangerment. The accident took place when Spivey ran into a parked pickup truck in the emergency lane of the highway. Troopers say that the pickup truck had been parked legally in the lane. The driver was identified as 62-year-old Wayne Johnson, who was in the bed of the truck securing a load.

At that time, Spivey’s SUV ran off the side of the road and struck the truck. Johnson was thrown from the bed of the truck and died at the accident scene.

Spivey and three juvenile passengers were taken to a local hospital with a variety of injuries.

Police continue to investigate the accident at this time.
