St. George, SC (October 17, 2018) – A 58-year-old passed away at the scene of a truck accident that happened.

St. George, SC (October 17, 2018) – A 58-year-old passed away at the scene of a truck accident that happened in St. George on Monday, October 15 around 3:40 a.m. He has since been identified as Jerome Simmons of Holly Hill. He had been driving an 18-wheeler on Winningham Road when it suddenly went off the left side of the road and overturned.

Police believe that he lost control of the vehicle and then overcorrected, which sent the vehicle into the ditch. Police say that Simmons was also partially ejected from the truck.

The S.C. Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office in the area are currently investigating the accident.
