State Highway 18, NC (October 19, 2018) – At this time, police are still conducting an investigation into a fatal car crash that took the life of one man on Wednesday, October 17. He has since been identified as 32-year-old Jack Hinds of Roanoke Rapids. Police say that the accident was deemed a rollover crash.

Troopers were called to State Highway 18 five miles south of the city around 4 a.m. in the morning to find that a Ford pickup truck had been involved in a crash and rolled over.

Hinds passed away at the scene of the accident. He had been driving south when he was struck, causing his vehicle to immediately roll. Police also say that it was raining at the time of the accident.

The investigation continues at this time.
