State Route 20, GA (November 11, 2018) – The Georgia State Patrol claimed that one person died from a head-on.

State Route 20, GA (November 11, 2018) – The Georgia State Patrol claimed that one person died from a head-on collision while she was making a move to Alabama. The woman died on State Route 20 late Friday night, November 9.

The victim has since been identified by police as 62-year-old Vanessa Ruth Johnson. She had been heading west on the highway heading toward Alabama when she was struck by a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Amber Eason. The accident happened head-on.

Police say that the accident took place near the intersection of Lake Park near the Martha’s Skillet in the area around 9:30 p.m. Johnson was pronounced dead at 10:30 p.m.

Eason was taken to the Floyd Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries and released.
