Statham, GA (December 7, 2018) – On Thursday, December 7, a woman was identified as the suspect in a fatal.

Statham, GA (December 7, 2018) – On Thursday, December 7, a woman was identified as the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run accident that took the life of a man who was walking his dog.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident and made an arrest of 42-year-old Sandy Wilson, who was arrested on charges of 1st degree vehicular homicide, felony hit-and-run, reckless driving, failure to report an accident, and a variety of other charges.

These charges came after the death of 66-year-old Marvin Barnes. Barnes died after he was struck by a vehicle while walking his dog along a stretch of Jefferson Road. The collision led to the death of both Barnes and the dog.

A County Sheriff involved in the accident said that Barnes had been walking his dog minding his own business when the driver came up and struck him and didn’t even stop to check on him.

Police continue to investigate the accident at this time.
