Taylors, SC (December 6, 2018) – A fatal accident took place last night, December 5, on Wade Hampton Boulevard that took the life of a 17-year-old boy who has since been identified by police.
The accident took place around 8:43 p.m. in front of a shopping plaza. At the time, police say that a Toyota Corolla was stopped at a red light and was rear-ended by the driver of a 2016 Honda Accord, who had been speeding at the time.
The Corolla was knocked onto its side and the Honda continued onward, where it struck a 1998 Honda trying to make a turn.
Joshua Daniel Burgess, the 17-year-old, had been in the Corolla that was struck. He died at the scene of the accident.
Two other people from in the Corolla were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Honda Accord was hospitalized with serious injuries.
