Tift. Co., GA–(August 10, 2018)–An accident Tuesday evening on Old Ocilla Road involving two vehicles claimed the life of one.

Deputy Coroner Melissa Carroll reported to the scene of the incident Tuesday evening around 5:30 p.m. Carroll verified that the driver, 64-year-old Sherry Mobley, had died at the scene of the two-vehicle accident.

The accident is still under investigation. Trooper Slade Reid from the State Patrol Post 13 said the accident was a head-on collision and that a specialized collision reconstruction team is currently investigating the accident. The team returned to the scene Friday to map out what happened and look at the steering angles.

Charges to the driver of the other vehicle, who has not been identified, are still pending, and our condolences are with the Mobley family as they deal with this devastating loss.

Head-On Collisions

Head-on collisions are extremely difficult to investigate. Typically, in a vehicle accident, the individual with front-end damage is often found to be at fault. Issues arise when both vehicles sustain front end injury, prompting further investigations to determine who was at fault.

These investigations often include determining what side of the road the accident took place on, whose vehicle was in the proper lane, and what, if any, other factors influenced the accident.

Depending on the outcome of the investigation, some drivers have legal rights that allow them to secure compensation to cover medical expenses, lost wages, and costs to replace the lost vehicles.

At the Nye Law Group, we help individuals exercise their legal rights to secure the compensation they are entitled to. If you have been involved in a head-on collision, call us today at (912) 200-5230 for a free, no-obligation consultation.
