Transylvania County, NC (October 28, 2018) – A head-on collision that took place in Transylvania County last night, October 27, caused serious injuries in two people. The accident took place around 10 p.m. on the Hendersonville Highway. Police had to close down the highway for several hours while they worked at the accident scene.

Police say that the accident happened in the area of Crab Creek Road. At the time, a female driver had been heading westbound and crossed over the center lane. This is where her vehicle struck another.

The driver of the other vehicle, identified as a male, was pinned inside his Audi when the dash collapsed on him. His legs were pinned inside the car and he had to be extricated and taken to safety.

Helicopters were unable to transport the victims to the hospital because of heavy fog conditions in the area. At this time, their identities have not been released.

Both were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
