Union County, GA accident

Union County, GA (August 15, 2018) – The granddaughter of a detention officer with Paulding County was killed in a car accident Tuesday night by a distracted driver.

The incident took place on GA 101 South in Union County when a 20-year-old truck driver from Dallas, Tyler Arron Taylor, became distracted behind the wheel. The driver stated that he dropped water on his phone, which was on the floor of the vehicle, so he bent over to pick it up, and was unable to stop his vehicle before striking the car ahead.

Alora Rose Sell, age 4, was in the vehicle with her mother and her 3-year-old brother when the truck struck their car from behind. Alora was killed on impact, and her mother was bruised in the accident.

An investigation into this accident is ongoing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family as they cope with the devastating loss.
