US-441, NC (December 1, 2018) – Yesterday afternoon, November 30, a serious head-on collision took place that ended up being the second of two fatal accidents on US-441 that day. The incident involved two vehicles around 4 p.m.
At the time, a Saturn passenger vehicle was traveling toward the Cherokee Indian Reservation in the northbound lanes of the highway. It suddenly lost control and headed into the southbound lanes, which caused it to collide with a van head-on.
The driver of the van died at the scene of the accident. Nobody else was injured in the accident and charges are pending at this time.
Troopers have not yet released the name of the individual who was killed in this crash, but they continue to investigate at this time.
