Valdese, NC (December 20, 2018) – Two people were injured and hospitalized following a car accident involving two parties. The accident happened yesterday in the afternoon around 3:30 p.m.

17-year-old Thomas Dean Tullis and 14-year-old Jenna Deal were traveling on Meytre Avenue when they were involved in an accident. This caused their vehicle to run off the side of the road and into a tree.

Tullis was immediately taken to the hospital with injuries but is expected to recover. Deal was trapped in the vehicle for about 45 minutes while firefighters used several pieces of equipment to get her out.

After Deal was rescued from the vehicle, she was flown to the hospital with injuries but is expected to make a full recovery as well. Part of the frame of the vehicle had been wrapped around her leg and firefighters had to free her.

Police are still investigating what led to the accident.
