Wildwood, GA (November 10, 2018) – Early in the afternoon hours of the day yesterday, a head-on collision allegedly took place between a large truck and a pickup. Police responded to the area of the Highway 299 overpass.
The Georgia State Patrol arrived on the scene to find that the driver of the pickup truck had been traveling east on Interstate 24 when they suddenly crossed the median, striking the tractor-trailer head-on. The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene of the accident. The damages were so extensive that the trucks were completely ripped apart.
The Georgia State Patrol is still investigating how the accident took place. The Tennessee Department of Transportation was also one of the first to come to the scene of the accident.
