Williamston, SC (December 28, 2018) – In Anderson County, a head-on collision led to fatal results this morning, December 28. The accident took place around 7:57 a.m. on Ellison Lake Road.
The County Coroner said that 34-year-old Carmen Nicole Cooley was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. There was an 8-year-old passenger in her vehicle that was injured and taken to the hospital. Cooley and the 8-year-old had been trapped in the vehicle with one another at the time.
Police say that Cooley’s Honda was struck head-on by a 2011 Hyundai that crossed the center line. A 28-year-old and 2-year-old passenger had been in that vehicle and were injured at the time of the accident. They were hospitalized for their injuries.
Police claim that charges are pending at this time as their investigation into the matter continues.
