Wilmington, NC (November 11, 2018) – Police say that a Wilmington man is dead following a fatal intersection crash near.

Wilmington, NC (November 11, 2018) – Police say that a Wilmington man is dead following a fatal intersection crash near Independence Boulevard and Carolina Beach Road. The accident took place on Thursday, November 8.

The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. The driver of a green SUV was headed east when a Jeep turned in front of them, flipping over. The man who lost his life in the accident was identified as 53-year-old John Jackson Jr. He was sitting in the front passenger seat of the Jeep.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the accident was identified as 39-year-old Mark William Neil Estep. Estep has been charged with driving while impaired and felony death by motor vehicle. Several other passengers were involved in the accident and were sent to the hospital with various injuries. At this time, we are unsure of their conditions.
