Winder, GA (December 26, 2018) – A fatal hit-and-run has been investigated by police and now police have made an arrest in relation to the accident that took one life.

Last night on Christmas Eve, 42-year-old Sandy Michelle Wilson of Winder was arrested and charged with felony vehicular homicide and a variety of other traffic violations.

66-year-old Marvin Barnes and his dog had been struck by a vehicle when somebody in a vehicle ran off the side of the road and struck them. The sheriff’s office investigating the accident offered a reward as they were looking for the person responsible for the accident.

At this time, it is not known how police determined that Wilson was responsible for the crash, but she has been arrested. Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident.
