Windsor, NC (December 12, 2018) – In Windsor, a local man had been driving truck for a Bertie County farming operation when he tragically lost his life in a fatal accident. The accident took place on the US 17 Bypass.
The man was identified as 42-year-old Lacy Merle White Jr., who lost his life after he had been operating a grain truck and was involved in an accident that caused his truck to go off the side of the road and strike some trees. The 18-wheeler then went up in flames.
At the time, White was stuck inside his cab in the accident that took place around 12:00 noon. At the time, police say that White was close to the Wakelon Road intersection.
An autopsy is currently being performed and police continue their investigation of the accident.
