Winston-Salem, NC (December 6, 2018) – Police responded to a pedestrian accident where they say a woman named Teresa Lewis.

Winston-Salem, NC (December 6, 2018) – Police responded to a pedestrian accident where they say a woman named Teresa Lewis was seriously injured due to the negligence of another driver.

The accident took place on Tuesday evening, December 4, at the Economy Inn on National Boulevard. Police originally responded to the scene because they heard that shots had been fired and a fight broke out in the area.

Police arrived and found Lewis seriously injured with a bad head injury. A vehicle involved in the incident had knocked her to the ground. Lewis was transported to the Wake Forest Baptist Hospital by medical helicopter due to the severe injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that struck her, as well as one other person at the scene, were immediately arrested.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
