Zebulon, GA (October 16, 2018) – Police say that a football player sadly passed away from a severe brain injury after receiving the injuries at a Georgia high school. He was first in critical condition when he was flown to the hospital after a game on Friday night. The player was identified as Dylan Thomas, who was in high school. He was taken to the sidelines, where it was reported that he soon collapsed when an arm and leg went numb.

Thomas went through surgery for brain swelling, which is when he went into a coma. A vigil was held for him on Sunday, which is when he passed away at the hospital.

At this time, police are still investigating how and why the accident took place.
