Cherokee County, SC (November 23, 2018) – This afternoon, November 23, a woman lost her life in a fatal accident.

Cherokee County, SC (November 23, 2018) – This afternoon, November 23, a woman lost her life in a fatal accident that happened in Cherokee County around an intersection. The woman has since been identified as 56-year-old Velvet Anderson of Gaffney.

Gaffney had been driving a Toyota four-door on Ross Hill around 12:27 p.m. Anderson didn’t stop at the intersection with Pleasant School Road, which caused her to be involved in an accident. She struck an embankment and went airborne before crashing into a tree.

Anderson died at the scene of the accident, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Nobody else was injured in the accident.

Police continue to investigate the accident at this time.
