Asheville, NC (December 8, 2018) – An Asheville police officer was hospitalized following a serious crash after a police search.

Asheville, NC (December 8, 2018) – An Asheville police officer was hospitalized following a serious crash after a police search came to an end on Friday evening, December 7.

At the time, officers were trying to locate a suspect that fled them during a traffic stop near the area of South French Broad Avenue. However, they had to end the search when the suspect crashed into a police vehicle.

The officer was immediately transported to the Mission Hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident.
